Description
Brock is a recurring character originating from Pewter City in the Kanto region. He initially served as the Pewter City Gym Leader, specializing in Rock-type Pokémon and awarding the Boulder Badge to victorious trainers. This role resulted from familial responsibilities; following his father Flint's departure, Brock managed the gym while caring for his nine younger siblings. After Ash Ketchum earned the Boulder Badge, Flint returned, freeing Brock to pursue his dream of becoming a Pokémon Breeder. He subsequently joined Ash's journey through the Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh regions.

Brock exhibits a mature, composed, and observant personality, often acting as the group's voice of reason. His responsibilities as the eldest sibling fostered strong caretaking tendencies, reflected in his consistent role managing practical needs during travels. He carries supplies including maps, books, cookware, medical items like Potions, and grooming tools, handling cooking, cleaning, and Pokémon care. His culinary skills specifically extend to preparing specialized food for Pokémon. A recurring trait involves flirtatious behavior toward women such as Nurse Joy or Officer Jenny, often interrupted by companions like Misty or his Croagunk using Poison Jab to deter him.

His career goals evolved during his travels. After initially focusing on Pokémon breeding, he shifted toward medicine following events in Sinnoh. Witnessing Pokémon in medical distress solidified his decision to become a Pokémon Doctor. He left Ash's group after the Sinnoh journey to study medicine, apprenticed under a practicing Pokémon Doctor in Johto, and later aided at the Pewter City Pokémon Center while awaiting medical school enrollment.

In *Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life*, Brock travels with Ash and Dawn to Michina Town. During spatial distortions threatening Pikachu and Piplup, he physically supports Ash and Dawn while expressing concern for their safety. When the group encounters Sheena, a descendant of the historical figure Damos, Brock participates in efforts to calm Arceus's wrath over the stolen Jewel of Life. After Dialga sends the group back in time to correct the past betrayal, Brock accompanies the mission to ensure the Jewel's return. His medical knowledge surfaces when treating an injured baby Kangaskhan in a related Alola episode, utilizing a Comfey gifted by Nurse Joy.

Later reappearances, such as in the *Sun & Moon* series, confirm his continued work as a Pokémon Doctor. He reunites with Ash in Alola, diagnoses Pokémon ailments like Snowy's airsickness, and assists in battles using his signature Pokémon like Mega Steelix. His expertise remains acknowledged in subsequent series, including a silhouette cameo during explanations of Gym Leader systems.
