Movie
Description
Brock begins as Pewter City's Gym Leader, battling with Rock-type Pokémon like Geodude and Onix. After losing to Ash Ketchum, he steps down to pursue his dream of becoming a top Pokémon Breeder, joining Ash on journeys across Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh. As the eldest of ten siblings, he previously raised them alone for nearly two years following his parents' departure, showcasing his inherent caretaker nature.

His character evolves significantly during these travels. Initially a mentor figure to Ash, he later adopts a protective older brother role within the group. Brock's maturity, wisdom, and observational skills make him the primary source of rational perspective during conflicts, often explaining battle strategies or Pokémon behavior drawn from his Gym Leader background. He consistently prioritizes others' needs, offering support even at personal cost. Brock handles essential group duties, including navigation using maps and books, cooking, cleaning, and grooming both his and his companions' Pokémon. His extensive preparedness sees him carrying supplies like Potions, Pokémon food, cookware, and unconventional items such as a table and tea set in his backpack.

Brock's career goals shift during the Diamond & Pearl series. Questioning his path in Pokémon breeding, he redirects his focus toward becoming a Pokémon Doctor, aligning with his nurturing personality. Following the Sinnoh adventures, he trains in Pewter City and works at a Sinnoh Pokémon Center, aided by Croagunk and Blissey. His medical vocation continues in later appearances, where he wears a resident doctor's uniform during the World Coronation Series.

Personality-wise, Brock exhibits a domestic and supportive demeanor, yet displays a comedic flaw through persistent, unsuccessful flirtations with women, including recurring infatuations with Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny characters. These often result in him being physically dragged away by companions or his own Pokémon. Despite this, he forms genuine connections with characters like Lucy and Holly. He maintains deep respect for his father, Flint, though expresses frustration toward his mother, Lola, due to her remodeling of the Pewter Gym and erratic behavior.

In "Pikachu's Summer Vacation," Brock appears peripherally. He arrives at a Pokémon-exclusive resort with Ash and Misty, releasing their Pokémon for leisure. His role is confined to the short's opening and conclusion, calling for Onix, Geodude, Zubat, and Vulpix to depart at day's end. The narrative focuses on the Pokémon's interactions, with Brock solely facilitating their outing, consistent with his established role managing the group's logistics and caretaking duties.
