Description
Born Kakarot on planet Vegeta to Bardock and Gine, Goku was sent to Earth as an infant to survive Frieza's destruction of their homeworld—a mission motivated by Bardock's suspicions of Frieza, contrasting earlier conquest-oriented narratives. His parents ensured his escape with supplies and Saiyan armor, framing his origin as protective.

Adopted by Earthling Son Gohan, a head injury erased Goku's innate Saiyan aggression, forging a cheerful and moral character shaped by his grandfather. This foundation defined him as a martial artist committed to self-improvement and Earth's defense, though his core drive remains seeking worthy opponents over traditional heroism.

In *Dragon Ball Super: Broly*, Goku confronts exiled Saiyan warrior Broly, whose traumatic past and immense power ignite conflict after Frieza manipulates Broly and Paragus against Goku and Vegeta. Broly's combat adaptability forces Goku and Vegeta to fuse into Gogeta. Their multi-dimensional battle culminates with Broly achieving "Super Saiyan Full Power," prompting Gogeta’s near-fatal Kamehameha—averted when Cheelai and Lemo teleport Broly to safety using Dragon Balls.

Post-battle, Goku visits Broly on Vampa, delivering supplies and offering training to stabilize Broly’s volatile power. Goku introduces himself as both "Goku" and "Kakarot," urging Broly to use the latter—a gesture acknowledging his Saiyan roots, reflecting evolving dual-identity acceptance despite manga variations.

Goku’s design evolves across life stages, retaining spiky black hair and increasing musculature. His signature martial arts gi features shifting colors and insignias like King Kai’s or Whis’s symbols during training. Transformations such as Super Saiyan Blue prioritize combat efficiency, with Super Saiyan’s blond hair streamlining black-and-white manga rendering.

He consistently prioritizes growth through combat yet protects innocents from collateral damage—a duality opposing needless harm while pursuing challenges. This moral compass stems from Grandpa Gohan’s teachings, not Saiyan biology.
