He is among the first to detect alien ships carrying Tarble, Vegeta's previously unknown younger brother, and later the pursuing threats Abo and Kado. Learning from Tarble that Abo and Kado possess power comparable to Frieza, Goku deems this level manageable for the younger generation. He devises a radish-drawing contest from his farm to select combatants.
