Description
"Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion" is set in an alternate timeline where the Holy Britannian Empire has conquered much of the world, including Japan, now referred to as Area 11. The story centers on Lelouch Lamperouge, an exiled Britannian prince living in Area 11 under a false identity. Disillusioned by Britannia's oppressive rule and driven by a desire to create a better world for his younger sister, Nunnally, Lelouch gains a mysterious power known as Geass from a girl named C.C. This power allows him to command absolute obedience from anyone, but only once per person.
Using his newfound ability, Lelouch adopts the alias "Zero" and leads a rebellion against Britannia under the banner of the Black Knights, a group of resistance fighters. His strategic genius and Geass enable him to outmaneuver Britannian forces, rallying the oppressed Japanese people and other dissidents to his cause. However, Lelouch's ambitions are complicated by his relationships with key figures, including his childhood friend Suzaku Kururugi, who serves as a knight for Britannia, and his conflicted feelings for Shirley Fenette and Kallen Stadtfeld.
As the rebellion gains momentum, Lelouch's actions grow increasingly ruthless, blurring the line between hero and villain. His manipulation of allies and enemies alike leads to significant victories but also deepens the moral ambiguity of his mission. Suzaku, who opposes Lelouch's methods, becomes a formidable adversary, driven by his belief in reforming Britannia from within. The tension between their ideals and personal history forms a central conflict in the narrative.
The story explores themes of power, loyalty, and the consequences of ambition. Lelouch's Geass becomes both a tool and a curse, as its misuse leads to unintended tragedies, including the deaths of those close to him. The narrative also delves into the political machinations of Britannia, the resistance, and other global powers, revealing a complex web of alliances and betrayals.
In the climactic final arc, Lelouch orchestrates a grand plan to dismantle Britannia's empire and create a lasting peace, even if it means sacrificing his own reputation and life. The series concludes with a morally ambiguous resolution, leaving the impact of Lelouch's actions open to interpretation. The characters' development, intricate plot twists, and exploration of ethical dilemmas contribute to the series' enduring appeal.

1The Day a New Demon is Born
Lelouch vi Britannia,a student at Ashford Academy in Area 11, skips school to gamble in the Saitama ghetto. A skirmish erupts between Britannian military forces and a terrorist group attempting to steal a capsule containing a girl named C.C. Lelouch accidentally gets caught in the crossfire and confronts a Britannian soldier. The soldier shoots Lelouch, but C.C. emerges from the capsule and offers him a contract. She grants him the power of Geass, which compels anyone to obey any single command from him. Using this ability, Lelouch orders the soldiers who captured him to kill themselves, allowing his escape. He later reunites with his childhood friend Suzaku Kururugi, who serves as a Britannian soldier despite his Japanese heritage. Lelouch resolves to wield Geass to destroy the Holy Britannian Empire and create a better world for his sister Nunnally. He adopts the masked identity of Zero and targets a Britannian general as the first act of his rebellion.
2The White Knight Awakens
Lelouch tests the Geass on a pursuer from the royal guard, confirming its one-time use per person and its command function. He orders the soldier to deliver his own vehicle, then uses the man to create a distraction. Escaping the initial dragnet, Lelouch changes into a disguise and contacts the rebel cell led by Ohgi. The resistance fighters plan to steal a classified military container but lack sufficient manpower and firepower. Lelouch offers tactical guidance remotely, directing the rebels to use an elevated railway for a surprise attack. The Britannian military deploys a new Sutherland unit in response, cornering the resistance. Suzaku Kururugi, now an honorary Britannian soldier, pilots a transport vehicle and inadvertently positions himself near the battle. Lelouch, watching from a distance, sees Suzaku in danger and intervenes by using Geass on a soldier to free a captured rebel. The appearance of the experimental Knightmare Frame Lancelot changes the battlefield: it destroys multiple Sutherlands with overwhelming force. Suzaku climbs into the Lancelot after its designated pilot is incapacitated, demonstrating an unexpected compatibility. The Lancelot’s intervention allows the resistance to escape with the stolen container. Lelouch identifies Suzaku as the pilot and recognizes the Lancelot as a potential weapon against Britannia. The episode closes with Lelouch resolving to form his own force, now directly aware of a rival power within the military that could accelerate or complicate his plans.
3The False Classmate
Lelouch vi Britannia returns to Ashford Academy and uses his Geass on Shirley Fenette, erasing her memory of seeing him in the Shinjuku ghetto to protect his double life. He investigates a Britannian military transport carrying a large quantity of poison gas, intended for use against suspected terrorists. Adopting the masked identity Zero, he infiltrates the transport depot by using Geass on a soldier to gain entry and gather intelligence. He seizes the poison gas canisters, planning to use them as a bargaining chip against the Britannian government. Jeremiah Gottwald arrives with a security force to contain the breach, but Lelouch exploits the chaos created by his Geass commands to evade capture. Suzaku Kururugi, piloting the advanced Knightmare Frame Lancelot, intercepts Zero’s escape route and disables his vehicle. Lelouch activates Geass on Suzaku with the command “live,” forcing Suzaku to abandon his attack and prioritize self-preservation. The command successfully saves Suzaku from a subsequent explosion, but Lelouch immediately recognizes that Geass can only affect a given individual once. This limitation permanently removes Suzaku as a potential target for future Geass commands. Lelouch resolves to adapt his strategies to accommodate this constraint, aware that every use of Geass now carries irreversible consequences for his future operations.
4His Name is Zero
Lelouch Lamperouge, masked as Zero, infiltrates a Britannian military base by using his Geass on a soldier to deliver a public ultimatum demanding the release of Suzaku Kururugi. In the Saitama ghetto, Zero coordinates with resistance members to take hostages and rig a truck with explosives. Lieutenant Colonel Kewell dismisses Zero’s demands and orders a military assault on the ghetto. Zero detonates the truck remotely, triggering a landslide that traps the advancing Britannian forces. He then uses Geass on Kewell to compel him to order a retreat and to release Suzaku into Zero’s custody. Following the rescue, Zero addresses the gathered crowd, declaring that those oppressed by Britannia must choose between remaining subservient or joining his cause. Several resistance fighters pledge their loyalty to Zero, forming the initial core of the Black Knights. Suzaku declines to join, stating his intent to change Britannia from within, creating a clear separation between his path and Zero’s. Prince Clovis, the Viceroy of Area 11, learns of Zero’s actions and orders his immediate capture, shifting the conflict toward a direct confrontation with the ruling authority.
5The Princess and the Witch
Lelouch Lamperouge, acting as Zero, hijacks a military transport train to free Suzaku Kururugi from a scheduled execution. He uses his Geass on a young soldier, compelling the soldier to help him infiltrate the train and disable its security systems. Inside, Zero confronts the commanding officer, but Suzaku refuses release, insisting on submitting to military judgment for his actions. Princess Cornelia li Britannia arrives in Area 11 with her Glaston Knights to assume command and crush the resistance. Her sister, Princess Euphemia li Britannia, accompanies her and becomes separated during the attack, ending up as a hostage on the train. Zero recognizes Euphemia from his past and spares her, instead using her presence to bargain for his group’s escape while his Black Knights allies extract other prisoners. Cornelia quickly assesses Zero’s strategy from her command post and cuts off his escape routes with precision maneuvers. Lelouch detonates explosives to generate chaos and slip away, but Suzaku chooses to remain behind in custody. Cornelia takes Suzaku into her own charge, viewing him as a potential instrument against Zero, while Lelouch returns to his hidden identity with a renewed awareness of the tactical and personal challenges Cornelia now poses.
6The Stolen Mask
Lelouch Lamperouge, acting as Zero, infiltrates a Britannian military facility to steal a prototype float unit intended for the Ganymede. He uses his Geass on a guard to bypass security and secures the device. Shirley Fenette discovers Zero’s mask and cape inside Lelouch’s school locker and removes them to shield him from potential exposure. During a military exercise, Suzaku Kururugi pilots the Lancelot to intercept resistance fighters who test the stolen float unit. Cornelia li Britannia leads her forces to trap Zero and his allies in the conflict zone. Shirley arrives at the site carrying the mask, attempting to return it, but becomes caught in the combat. Lelouch retrieves the mask amid the chaos and resumes his Zero identity. To prevent Shirley from linking his civilian life to Zero, he uses his Geass to erase her memories of the mask and his involvement in the incident. The float unit remains in the Black Knights’ possession, giving them a tactical asset against Britannia. Shirley’s altered memories leave her with unexplained emotional attachment to Lelouch, while Cornelia’s pursuit of Zero intensifies.
8The Black Knights
Zero meets with a small resistance cell in a ruined section of Tokyo. The cell's leaders,Ougi and Tamaki, plan a direct frontal assault on a Britannian supply convoy. Zero proposes a revised plan that uses a diversion to trap the convoy. He uses his Geass on a Britannian soldier, ordering the soldier to drive a military truck across the convoy's path. The truck blocks the road, forcing the convoy to stop. The resistance attacks from elevated positions, throwing Molotov cocktails and firing rifles. Zero captures a Sutherland Knightmare and uses it to eliminate the convoy's escort units. After the battle, Zero announces that the resistance cell will reorganize into the Black Knights. He declares that the Black Knights will fight for all oppressed peoples, not just the Japanese. The cell members agree to follow Zero's command, though Kallen privately questions his motives. C.C. watches from a rooftop, noting that Zero has taken the first step toward building an army. The Britannian Viceroy Cornelia learns of the attack and orders her forces to prioritize the capture of Zero.
9Refrain
After the battle at Narita, the Black Knights gain public attention but lack resources and a unified command. Lelouch, as Zero, approaches multiple resistance groups to consolidate them under his leadership. He discovers the drug Refrain, which forces users to re-experience past memories, and learns that Kallen’s mother is addicted to it. Using Kallen’s personal stake, Zero orchestrates a raid on a Refrain distribution facility. During the raid, Kallen confronts her mother’s captors and chooses to destroy the drug supply rather than recover a sample for analysis. Lelouch adapts by seizing incriminating documents from the facility, which detail Britannian military officers’ involvement in the drug trade. He uses those documents to blackmail the officers into diverting weapons and supplies to the resistance groups. Lelouch demonstrates his willingness to exploit personal connections for strategic gain. Simultaneously, Suzaku accepts a position as Princess Euphemia’s personal knight, elevating his status within Britannia. The final scene shows Lelouch watching a news broadcast of Suzaku in his new role, visibly disturbed by the development.
10Guren Dances
Lelouch, acting as Zero, deploys the Black Knights to the Britannian base in the Narita mountains. He uses his Geass on a Britannian officer to order a landslide, burying a significant portion of the enemy forces. Kallen pilots the newly acquired Guren Mk-II, a seventh-generation Knightmare Frame, and destroys multiple enemy units with its radiation arm. The Black Knights exploit the chaos to achieve a decisive victory, but the landslide also traps some of their own allied resistance fighters. Suzaku arrives in the Lancelot and engages Kallen, showcasing the Lancelot's superior mobility. The battle forces Suzaku to confront the destructive consequences of Zero's methods, which prioritize results over lives. Kallen experiences a personal turning point as she harnesses the Guren's power to protect her comrades. The Britannian command identifies Zero as a strategic mastermind and elevates his threat level. After the battle, Lelouch realizes that his actions have attracted the attention of the Geass Order, a shadowy group with knowledge of his power. The victory solidifies the Black Knights' reputation, but internal tensions grow over Zero's ruthless tactics.
11Narashino School Festival
Lelouch coordinates a school festival at Ashford Academy to create a diversion for a Black Knights operation to rescue Suzaku from the Narashino military base. He uses Geass on a soldier named Kewell to assume his identity and infiltrate the base. Kallen and other Black Knights disguise themselves as festival participants to position themselves for the assault. Inside the base,Lelouch locates Suzaku but encounters Cornelia, who has equipped her forces with specialized contact lenses that render them immune to Geass. His attempt to command her fails, forcing him to retreat. The Black Knights execute their attack, securing Suzaku’s release amidst the chaos. After his rescue, Suzaku refuses to join the Black Knights, choosing instead to return to military custody to face his false accusation of murder. Lelouch accepts Suzaku’s decision but privately vows to dismantle Britannia’s system that forces such choices. Cornelia, now aware of an enemy capable of mind control, orders her subordinates to develop countermeasures and intensifies her hunt for Zero. The episode closes with Lelouch’s resolve hardening as he recognizes that his path will increasingly isolate him from those he seeks to protect.
12The Messenger from Kyoto
Zero leads the Black Knights to a secret meeting with the Kyoto House, the principal financial backers of the resistance movement. The representative, Kirihara, demands proof of Zero’s identity before committing further resources. Lelouch removes his mask in private, revealing himself as the son of the late Empress Marianne. Kirihara recognizes the boy he once knew and pledges the full support of the Kyoto House, including a new advanced Knightmare frame, the Guren Mk-II. The Black Knights acquire the Guren and assign Kallen as its pilot. Simultaneously, Suzaku receives a promotion to warrant officer and a new upgraded Lancelot unit. The Britannian military, under Cornelia, plans to crush the remaining resistance strongholds in the Narita mountains. Zero deduces Cornelia’s strategy and sets a counter-trap, ordering the Black Knights to prepare for a direct engagement. Kallen tests the Guren’s powerful radiation arm, a weapon designed to overwhelm Britannian forces. The episode concludes with both armies moving toward Narita, setting the stage for the first large-scale clash between the Black Knights and Cornelia’s forces.
13Shirley and the Gun
Shirley Fenette receives official notification that her father,a Britannian soldier, died in the landslide at Narita. Lelouch Lamperouge, who caused the landslide through a Geass command, visits her to offer condolences but conceals his role. Shirley’s grief turns to suspicion when she finds a photograph linking Lelouch to the resistance group that fought at Narita. She retrieves a handgun from her father’s belongings and confronts Lelouch at the school’s swimming pool, demanding the truth. Lelouch, cornered and unable to explain without exposing Zero, activates his Geass to erase all memories Shirley holds of him. He commands her to forget everything, including her father’s death, her feelings for him, and their shared experiences. The Geass takes effect, and Shirley collapses, losing the emotional connection that drove her. Lelouch walks away, knowing he has sacrificed one of his few personal ties to protect his larger objective. The following days show Shirley returning to a state of ignorance, unaware of the void left in her life. The episode closes with Lelouch reaffirming his resolve, now further isolated from those closest to him, while the Black Knights continue their campaign against Britannia.
14Geass vs. Geass
Lelouch learns that Mao,a boy with a Geass that reads thoughts, suffers from an inability to turn the power off, leaving him vulnerable to sensory overload. Mao captures Suzaku and forces Lelouch to confront him, revealing that he knows Zero’s true identity. Lelouch creates a countermeasure by recording a loop of C.C.’s voice and rigging a stadium’s sound system to broadcast a chaotic mix of voices. He triggers the broadcast, flooding Mao’s mind with thousands of simultaneous thoughts until the Geass overloads and Mao collapses. C.C. steps forward and shoots Mao, deliberately wounding him to neutralize the threat without killing him. Lelouch arranges for Mao to be taken into military custody, ensuring he cannot interfere further. Suzaku, freed from Mao’s psychological grip, is detained by the Black Knights on suspicion of espionage, creating friction within the resistance. Lelouch reflects that his own Geass has strict limits and that Mao’s survival may lead to a future confrontation. With Mao imprisoned and Suzaku caught between loyalties, the fragile alliance between the Black Knights and Lelouch’s personal objectives faces mounting strain.
15Mao of the Cheering
Mao corners Lelouch by threatening to reveal his identity to the public through a planted bomb unless Lelouch surrenders. Lelouch deduces that Mao’s mind-reading Geass has a limited range of approximately 500 meters and exploits this limitation. He stages a series of distractions using multiple decoy telephone calls to overwhelm Mao’s perception. Mao’s fixation on C.C. drives him to abandon his original plan in order to confront her directly. Lelouch uses the confusion to have C.C. shoot Mao with a tranquilizer dart, rendering him unconscious. After the capture, Lelouch orders C.C. to leave Mao behind, but she disobeys and stays with him, revealing her past connection to Mao as the first Geass user she contracted. Mao escapes custody and reemerges with the intent to permanently damage Lelouch by turning Shirley against him. Mao forces Shirley to confront Lelouch with a gun, but Lelouch manipulates the situation and uses his Geass to make Mao fire into the air, drawing police gunfire that critically wounds Mao. Shirley recovers fragments of her memories concerning Lelouch’s actions, though she remains emotionally shattered. C.C. carries the dying Mao away, refusing to let him die alone, solidifying her unresolved history with him. The episode closes with Suzaku investigating the incident, now more suspicious of Lelouch’s activities.
16Nunnally Held Hostage
The Japan Liberation Front, cornered by Britannian forces, seizes the Lake Kawaguchi hotel and takes over one hundred hostages, including students from Ashford Academy. Nunnally Lamperouge sits among the captives, placing Lelouch in direct opposition to the JLF. Lelouch dons the Zero mask and deploys the Black Knights to the scene, framing the rescue as an operation to both save civilians and dismantle the last organized resistance group outside his control. Inside the hotel, Lelouch confronts JLF commander General Katase. He uses his Geass to force Katase to order the release of all hostages and then to turn his weapon on himself. The JLF’s remaining soldiers lose their command structure and surrender. Suzaku Kururugi arrives in the Lancelot and engages the JLF’s remaining military assets, unaware of Zero’s presence inside. Lelouch evacuates Nunnally personally, maintaining his disguise while ensuring she does not recognize him. The Black Knights publicly claim victory, absorbing the JLF’s remaining resources and public support. Suzaku’s success in the battle earns him a promotion, but his repeated encounters with Zero deepen his suspicion of the masked figure. With the JLF eliminated, the Black Knights become Britannia’s primary target, and Lelouch’s double life grows more precarious as Suzaku draws closer to uncovering his identity.
17Knight
Zero leads the Black Knights to intercept a Britannian military convoy. He captures a soldier and uses Geass to extract the convoy's true destination and Cornelia's trap. The Britannian forces surround the Black Knights. Suzaku launches the Lancelot and destroys several of Zero's Knightmare frames. Zero pilots a captured Glasgow Knightmare to engage the Lancelot directly. During the combat,Zero hears Suzaku's voice through the Lancelot's communications. Lelouch recognizes his childhood friend as the enemy pilot. The Lancelot cripples Zero's Glasgow, forcing Zero to eject and retreat. Meanwhile, Euphemia requests Cornelia to appoint Suzaku as her personal knight. Cornelia grants the request but warns Euphemia that the position carries political risks. Suzaku kneels before Euphemia and swears loyalty to her and Britannia. Lelouch watches the televised ceremony and decides to use Geass on Cornelia to dismantle her authority. He infiltrates the Britannian command center and confronts Cornelia directly. The episode ends as Lelouch prepares to utter a Geass command to control her.
18I Order You - Suzaku Kururugi
Lelouch arrives at the Kururugi shrine and confronts Suzaku. He points a gun at Suzaku and demands that Suzaku join the Black Knights. Suzaku refuses, stating he will change Britannia from within. Lelouch, unable to shoot his childhood friend, activates his Geass. He commands Suzaku to live. The Geass takes effect immediately, embedding the order into Suzaku’s mind. Suzaku draws his own gun and fires at Lelouch. Lelouch escapes into the shrine’s tunnels. Euphemia announces the Special Administrative Zone of Japan, a designated area where Elevens retain their Japanese identity. The announcement draws suspicion from Cornelia, who believes Euphemia’s plan undermines military authority. Lelouch learns of the SAZ through C.C. and recognizes it as a direct challenge to his rebellion. He resolves to investigate Euphemia’s true intentions. Lelouch also realizes the Geass command he placed on Suzaku might force Suzaku to survive any lethal situation, creating an unpredictable obstacle.
19Orange
Jeremiah Gottwald, subjected to Britannian cybernetic augmentation after his previous defeat, receives a new mission to capture Zero. He launches an assault on the Black Knights’ headquarters. Lelouch, in the guise of Zero, confronts Jeremiah directly. Lelouch attempts to use his Geass on Jeremiah, but the cybernetic implant replacing Jeremiah’s left eye blocks the command. With his primary weapon neutralized, Lelouch removes his mask, exposing his identity to Jeremiah. He then invokes Jeremiah’s past loyalty to Empress Marianne, Lelouch’s mother, and plays a recorded message that reaffirms Jeremiah’s sworn duty. Jeremiah’s allegiance instantly shifts from the Britannian military to Lelouch. The Black Knights gain a highly skilled pilot and warrior, but Lelouch’s secret becomes known to one more individual. Meanwhile, the attack forces the Black Knights to relocate, straining their resources. The episode closes with Jeremiah fully embracing his “Orange” moniker as a badge of honor, while Britannian forces consolidate for a larger counteroffensive against the growing resistance.
20Guinea Pig
Mao captures Shirley and uses her as bait to force Lelouch into a confrontation. Lelouch abandons a direct rescue and instead devises a countermeasure against Mao’s mind-reading Geass. He records a loop of his thoughts on tape and broadcasts it through speakers at the amusement park. Mao,unable to filter the repetitive broadcast, suffers severe mental strain and collapses. C.C. arrives and shoots Mao to disarm a detonator he holds, but Lelouch prevents her from delivering a fatal shot. Lelouch then turns to Shirley, who has regained memories of him being Zero and of her father’s death caused by the Black Knights’ actions. He uses his Geass on Shirley to erase all memories related to him, including their interactions and her knowledge of Zero. The Geass activation causes Lelouch physical pain, and his left eye begins to show signs of the Geass’s persistent activation. With Mao incapacitated, Britannian military forces arrive and take him into custody, though he warns Lelouch of future consequences. Shirley, now devoid of memories linking her to Lelouch, resumes her life at school without recognizing him. The episode closes with Lelouch’s Geass eye permanently remaining active under his contact lens, signaling an irreversible progression.
21School Festival Declaration!
The Ashford Academy school festival becomes a stage for Zero. Lelouch, acting through his public identity, commandeers the festival’s broadcast system to issue a direct challenge to the Britannian Empire. He announces the Black Knights’ existence as an organized force and declares his intent to topple the imperial government. Suzaku, having pieced together Lelouch’s role as Zero from earlier clues, confronts him in the school’s control room. Suzaku draws his firearm and demands Lelouch surrender, citing his obligations under the Britannian military. Kallen, who has followed Suzaku, witnesses the exchange and realizes Lelouch’s dual identity for the first time. She moves to protect Lelouch, creating a three-way standoff inside the confined space. Outside, the Black Knights receive orders to stand by, unaware of their leader’s exposed position. V.V. observes the situation from a distance, noting the developing confrontation as an opportunity to advance his own agenda with the Geass Order. The immediate consequence leaves Lelouch’s identity teetering on the edge of exposure to both his closest allies and his enemies. Suzaku’s duty to arrest Zero clashes directly with his personal history with Lelouch. The episode closes with the three individuals locked in a stalemate, each holding a critical piece of the other’s fate.
22Bloodstained Euphy
At the Special Administrative Zone of Japan ceremony,Euphemia announces her intent to make Lelouch her personal knight, aiming to secure peace through recognition of the Japanese people. Lelouch, momentarily distracted, accidentally uses his Geass on her while making a sarcastic remark about slaughtering the Japanese, and the command permanently activates. Euphemia, now under Geass, orders the immediate massacre of all Japanese in the zone and begins firing on civilians. Lelouch faces the immediate consequence: his power has turned a symbol of reconciliation into a mass execution. He abandons the Black Knights’ earlier plan to sabotage the zone peacefully and instead commands them to kill Euphemia, framing her as a tyrant to rally resistance. Suzaku confronts Lelouch inside the stadium, and Lelouch reveals his identity as Zero, explaining that his Geass caused the massacre. Suzaku, consumed by rage and disbelief, draws his sword to kill Lelouch, while the Black Knights and the Glaston Knights engage in open battle. Lelouch escapes, but the broadcast of Euphemia’s actions solidifies the Japanese people’s hatred toward the Britannian royal family. With Euphemia’s reputation shattered and the Special Zone destroyed, Lelouch resolves to continue his war, now bound by the irreversible cost of his own error. The episode closes with Suzaku vowing to kill Zero and the Black Knights preparing for a full-scale uprising, setting the stage for a direct confrontation between the two former friends.
23At Least with Sorrow

Lelouch uses his Geass on a Britannian officer to secure Kallen's release from military custody. Suzaku, piloting the Lancelot, intercepts the Gawain and tears open its cockpit, discovering Lelouch's identity as Zero. Lelouch attempts to use his Geass on Suzaku, but the command fails to take effect because a previous Geass command implanted in Suzaku overrides it. Cornelia engages Zero's forces, but Lelouch turns her soldiers against her with a Geass, forcing her to retreat. Lelouch corners Cornelia to demand information about his mother's assassination, but an unseen attacker shoots Cornelia and escapes. While searching for the shooter, Lelouch's Geass activates uncontrollably, freezing a crowd of surrendering Britannian soldiers in place. Suzaku returns with the Lancelot and captures Lelouch, bringing him before the Emperor. In the Emperor's chamber, Lelouch receives a Geass command that rewrites his memories, erasing his identity as Zero and his motivations for rebellion. The two mechs clash inside the collapsing government structure. The building's supports fail, causing the floor beneath the Gawain to crumble. Lelouch falls into a lower level, and his mask breaks off. Suzaku descends and sees Lelouch's face, realizing Zero is his best friend. Suzaku hesitates to deliver a final blow.
