"Dragon Ball Evolution" centers on Goku, a high school student who trains under his grandfather, Gohan, in martial arts. Goku is unaware of his extraterrestrial heritage and the significance of a mystical Dragon Ball he possesses. When Gohan is killed by Piccolo, an ancient warlord seeking to gather all seven Dragon Balls to regain his full power and conquer Earth, Goku embarks on a journey to stop him.
